TOPIC #1 - Drop 2's

Step #1 – Play major 7th drop 2’s up and down through at least 6 keys if not all.

TOPIC #2 - Slow Swing Ballads

Step #2 – Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me – Try to use the methodology to work on the slow swing ballad as demonstrated in video.
A. Pedal entire time
B. LH Stride – Bass note to shells or chord
C. RH Harmonizations still on melody notes under chord
D. RH Jump down to comp in space

TOPIC #3 - Straight 8th Ballads

Step #3 – Everything Happens to Me – Continue to work on ballad system with different extension combinations, and fill movements in space.

TOPIC #4 - Ballad Improvisation

Step #4 – Practice RH improvisation over a 2-5-1 trying to move out side the pocket with different groupings of rhythms that really just float over top of your LH playing just single note bass notes.
Step #5 – Try over Ballad of your choice if you feel ready.
