Lesson 8, Step 2: Modern Improv Scales
I find the practice exercises headings a bit confusing.
The first example is labeled: “F- Pentatonic Scale”. But these aren’t true minor pentatonic scales, right? Rather, they seem to be the 1-2-3-5-6 scale degrees of an Fm.
The major pentatonic is 1-2-3-5-6
The minor pentatonic is 1-b3-4-5-b7

Hi Cindy,
I think the answer may lie in the structure of the blues chords, dominant chords, which are not diatonic and they take on their own structure, as explained by Brenden in his Practice video, The Blues – Stage 1 | Lesson 13, -Step #2 – Part 1 . Could this be the reason?
