TOPIC #1 - Moon River
Step #1 – Work to add in thicker voicings with chord tones.
Step #2 – Keep working on time and confidence in harmonies.
Step #3 – Watch the Fmaj7 as opposed to the one F dominant 7 at the end of the tune
Step #4 – Take out the tritone in place of the B-7b5
TOPIC #2 - Improv
Step #5 – Very good start! Keep going with simple melodies.Pulse LH to keep time if you need to.
Step #6 – Add some comping to break up solo.
Step #7 – Condense chord scales by playing Cmaj more and remove blues licks for now to create more elegance. Shoot for chord tones and textures like dynamics, slides, register changes, and sixteenth note ornaments.
