Lesson Plan:

Topic #1 - Bebop Improv + Rhythm

Step #1: Play “WITTCL” using LH 7th chords and shell voicings.
Step #2: Improvise using more offbeat rhythms, adding passing tones between 5-6 and 2-3 over major 2-5-1’s. Over minor chords, approach chord tones with half steps for a more chromatic sound.
Step #3: Play 2+ choruses of solo in a bebop style using these additional elements.
