Lesson Plan:

Topic #1 : Solo Piano - But Beatiful

Step #1: Practice “But Beautiful” using 5-note voicings in a ballad style.
Step #2: Use chromatic approach chords to reharmonize the melody. Eliminate chords which you decide are non-essential for a more streamlined arangement.
Step #3: Add arpeggios and improvisation in places of your choice, and combine these elements for a complete arrangement.
Step #4: The arrangement should flow smoothly with minimal starting and stopping, and be an expression of your creative voice using the elements you’ve learned so far in the accelerator program.
