Lesson Plan:

Solo Piano

#1 – Try again 1&7’s again one more time keep hands together and keep voicing up towards middle C and not lower than F2 as a general rule. LH 1&7 RH 9 and 3. All Minors, Dominants and Major 7ths. (I don’t need this filmed. Do on your own)
#2 -LH 1&7 RH 3 and 11. All Minors, (#11) on Dominants and Major 7ths.
#3 – LH 1 & 10, RH 7 and 11 all Minors, (#11) on dominants and major 7ths.
#4 – Comp through Circle of 4ths all tritone 2-5-1’s using rootless voicings.
#5 – Comp Through all circle of 4ths dominant tritones of itself with rootless voicings.
#6 – My Romance – Try variations of harmonizations in RH under melody with all shells and 5 or 9 with LH just bass note, or 1to 10. Be sure to play 1 to 10 as eighth notes with pedal lightly and elagantly.
#7 – In space use rootless voicings in RH with LH bass notes to comp and fill space
#8 – Add in tritone where possible.

Improvisation

#1 – Swing chord scales up and down on 1,3,5,7 through all keys RH only with ireal pro 2-5-1’s shoot for 120bpm.
#2 – Improvise over All The Things again RH only, connecting your chord tone patterns with chord scales now but be sure to LAND on a chord tone on the down beat of 1 everytime.
#3 – Add in LH comping with exercise above as separate video.
