Step #2 – Isolate Rootless Voicings, Structure #1

Stage 2 | Lesson: 18 | Step 2 – (Theory) Up until now, we have learned our rootless voicings in a 2-5-1 format, but there will be plenty of tunes where the harmony will contain a string of minor chords or dominant chords in a row. Stage 2 | Lesson: 18 | Step 3 – (Technique) Learning your parallel modes are extremely important as you’ll need to be able to switch back and forth between them as the harmony changes keys in certain situations. You’ll also want to be able to use the different atmosphere from each mode as you please.
