Step #1 – Try experimenting over major 7th and minor 7th chords with thick and thin textures just dropping notes in your RH and on your LH above your shells or between your shells.
TOPIC #2 - Way You Look Tonight
Step #2 – Make the bulk of your comping in zone 1 and zone 2. Performance needs more lower end bass for support.Like 1:50-2:10. This is perfect. Don’t hang out in zone 3 when you don’t have a bass player. With a bass player this is no problem.
Step #3 – Try to add some triplet comping rhythms in zone 1 and zone 2 or the space.
Step #4 – Reharms, tritone movements, sus, pedal tones, walk ups.
TOPIC #3 - Sleepin Bee
Step #5 – Try walking bass feel over 2-5-1, root to 5th or vice versa, add half step below in to approach roots.
Step #6 – Try some dynamics and get OVERLY expressive on your textures. If you want to create long textures try to make it very long. Same with short, go for LOTS of short.
