Topic #1: Modern Jazz Tunes

Step #1: Play “Red Clay” using LH 7th chords and RH melody.
Step #2: Practice adding sus “hybrid chords” in chorus 2:
– Bb/C, Ab/Bb, B/Db, Db/Eb, Eb/F, G/F
Step #3: Apply LH 4th voicings for a more modern sound.
Step #4: Improvise using various pentatonic scales in the RH.
Step #5: Play entire tune, adding improvisation using either LH 7th chords or 4th voicings to accompany yourself.
